Lyrics
Reporter: I’m here at Ground Zero, Steve, the chaos…the smoke…indescribable…let me see if I can get a word with this human over here…excuse me, sir..sir…What do you think is happening????
Poet:
people are dying (3x)
shouted a man in the streets
shhh…
can you hear, our mother’s crying
our way of life is…changing
sirens are wailing
society is failing
who’ll stop the screaming
who’ll stop the screaming
who’ll stop the screaming
Reporter: Sorry Steve…it was only a poet. Let’s see what this group of humans over here are chanting…
fear controlling
cop patrolling
tempers boiling
no consoling (3x)
Reporter: Interesting. We have time for one more human study Steve, let’s see what this group of humans over here are saying.
you can feel it in the air
you can see it in our eyes
you can feel it, in our bones
you can hear it
in the desert cries,
you can feel it in the city
you can feel it in the country
no escape no hope…
Reporter: Thank you…Everything has gone according to plan, Steve. I’m coming up.
my skin,
what’s happened to my skin?
it’s dangling
from my bones,
my brain feels…
scattered…
everything that mattered
…doesn’t matter…
we have nothing
Don’t give up
Think it through
Thomas Pynchon would
think it through
hahahahaha….
Is it time
we left this world (2x)
time we left
this world today (2x)
don’t give up
think it through (2x)
time we left
time we left
time we left this world today
time we went to outer space
it’s time
time time time time
time gentlemen
time we left this world today
Space is the Place (5x)
Thomas Pynchon (etc..)
we won’t screw it up
…this time.
Notes
- The sequel to “Thomas Pynchon”. I like Thomas better, but there are moments in this I think are alright. It has a 9-second loop from the Hawkwind classic! …and Sun Ra!!
- I used ButtonBass during this time. I have switched over to SampleFocus, but ButtonBass had some cool loops. It’s good to change it up, so maybe my next one, I’ll go back to ButtonBass? We’ll see. Both are good.
